Welcome to PCAP: Programming Essentials in Python at Wirral Met. This course, accredited and verified by the CISCO Networking Academy, will introduce you to programming with Python, teaching you how to design varied programs with the language, and understand how to use it within the software development process.
Course Details
This course is the perfect place to learn Python, the multi-paradigm programming language used by a wide variety of companies from start-ups to tech giants such as Google, Facebook and Netflix. You will develop a wide range of core skills during your studies, opening you up to a wide range of career opportunities. Topics covered include: - Algorithmic thinking, analysing problems and computer translation - Designing, developing and improving multi-module computer programs - Analysing and modelling real-life problems in Object-Oriented Programming categories - Understanding the role of a programmer in the software development process - Learning how a program is executed in a computer environment - Creating a programming portfolio
Entry Guidelines


To study a Level 2 qualification, you will need:

A minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade 3, including English and Maths (or L1  Functional Skills in English and Maths)
                                     OR
A relevant Level 1 qualification with GCSE English and Maths at grade 3 or above (or L1 Functional Skills in English and Maths)

Satisfactory interview and/or assessment

Assessment Method
This course is assessed throughout with assessments, practical and theoretical exercises.
